Data is the most important asset at Explorys, an IBM Company. Data drives everything we do, from enabling care coordination and quality improvement to driving new research and discovery. Explorys, an IBM Company amasses data from hundreds of different clinical, financial, and operational data sources. It is essential that the information be presented in a consistent and standardized form.
A Clinical Data Analyst reviews how information is recorded and generates a standardized form through our data Curation process. This team is responsible for identifying new ontologies and coding standards that can be adopted as well as maintaining our existing ontologies. This team has the opportunity to expand our data model to capture new types of data and identify how those data elements should be represented in our platform. The team can work with our Product Development teams to incorporate new data into our tools and applications to expand the value of our platform. The team can also work with training and education to ensure that our users understand the data in the Explorys platform and understand what problems our end-users are trying to solve. In the end, the team must develop creative solutions to challenging problems.
Essential Functions:
– Standardize clinical data to common ontologies (such as SNOMED-CT, RxNorm, and LOINC) to ensure Interoperability and drive analytics in the Explorys platform (e.g., quality measurement, care coordination, and clinical research)
– Act as a Subject Matter Expert for current ontologies such as ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPC, LOINC, SNOMED-CT, NDC, and RxNorm
– Work with Explorys’ software engineering teams to implement new clinical, financial, and operational data and ensure that these new data elements are ultimately represented accurately in our applications
